Surnames: Biggs, Ott, Phillips Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WCE.2ACIB/1021 Message Board Post: I have found my great-great-grandmother's parents in the Readington Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ 1850 census. John O. Biggs (43) & Sarah Ann (39), with children Margaret Ann (16), and two sons (both 9) . . . and Helen Biggs (29) are residing at the home of Nicholas (83) & Sarah (78) Ott. I am assuming Helen is John's sister. I have found a 1826 marriage record for John O. Biggs & Ann Laberteaux. If Ann and Sarah Ann are the same person, she would have been about 15 at the time of her marriage. I have found a 1848 marriage record for Sarah Ott Biggs and Jacques Quick. It states that Sarah's parents are John O. Biggs and Ann Laberteaux. There is also the issue that both Sarah Ott (Biggs) Quick & Margaret Ann (Biggs) Phillips migrated to Virginia in 1870 with their husbands and children. I must assume that there is a definite connection here. My theory is that Nicholas and Sarah Ott are the grandparents of either John O. or Sarah Ann (aka Ann Laberteaux?). I have been unsuccessful in finding a will, marriage record, or other documentation to verify this. (Marriage between Ott & Biggs or Ott and Laberteaux, for instance). I am willing to share what little I have with anyone who is pursuing this same family line. I would appreciate any tidbits anyone has to offer, as well. Please email me jenpch@aol.com Jen
