His brother, John, was father of Joseph Willis Biggs. Joel had a son named Willis Biggs who married in Charlotte County, VA; moved to Brunswick County and died in War of 1812 at Fort Seneca, Ohio in 1813. Joseph Willis Biggs died in Charlotte County, VA soon after 1800. The two are ofter confused as being one but no so.
