    3. This is in response to the recent query re Richard Asa Biggs, b 1846 Weakley Co TN. According to Marilu Burch Smallwood's "Some Colonial and Revolutionary Families of North Carolina", Melothe/Malotha B. Biggs, b 13 Jan 1815, was the son of Daniel (b 2 Oct 1787), grandson of Joseph Biggs II (1766-1844), and great-grandson of Joseph Biggs and Margaret Eastwood of Martin Co NC. Malotha is mentioned in the will of Daniel Biggs at http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/martin/wills/biggsd1834w.txt . The name Malotha is probably taken from Mallothi in 1 Chr 25:4, spelled Melothy in the Wycliffe Bible. 1840 census of Martin Co NC lists the household of an M. B. BIGGS. 1850 CENSUS, BENTON CO TN (one county removed from Weakley Co) M. B. BIGGS 33 NC, Margarett 32 NC, Daniel 15 NC, James 11 NC, William 9 NC, Joseph 6 NC, ASA 3 TN, Lucinda 2 TN 1860 CENSUS, PEMISCOT CO MO, Caruthersville (Pemiscot borders Dunklin Co) MALOTHA BIGGS 45 NC, Margaret 42 NC, William 19 NC, Joseph 17 NC, ASIA 14 female! TN, Lucinda 12 TN, Sarah 10 TN, McC*** 7 male TN next door to DANIEL BIGGS 22, Sarah 25, Mary 1, James BUELL 7, Susan? BUELL 5 ***"McC" is listed as Mac G in 1880. Would appreciate learning what his full first name was. The LDS 1880 transcription at http://www.familysearch.org shows in Margaret Biggs' household her son Samuel b ca 1860 and a "nephew" Henry Biggs, age 12 by MO. [I suspect the listing for Samuel in 1880 is correct, and that the 1870 listing for female child "Sarah", age 10 in 1870, is incorrect, and that this child is Samuel. Notice Asa is listed as a female named "Asia" in 1870.] A couple households removed from Margaret in Little Prairie Township, Pemiscot Co 1880, page 584B, is the household of her son Asa and his wife Alma. "Mac G Biggs" on same page. Anyone have a listing for these Biggses in 1870? Presumably they would have been in Pemiscot County then, but I don't find them in Heritage Quest's index that year. What was Malotha's wife, Margaret's, maiden name? 1910 Senath census shows household of Albert Biggs 34 magistrate, with wife Sarah 28, and brother Thomas 28 single, salesman in dry goods store; two boarders. Albert and Thomas were listed as b MO, with father b US and mother b TN. Will Biggs farmer at Senath in 1910 [age probably 29; indexed as 24 by Heritage Quest, but the second digit does not compare to other 4's on page], born Mo, parents b TN, wife Rennie? 18, son Seaward? 10 months; one servant. No luck on Henry L. or James M. Folks were sometimes listed by middle name rather than first name on the census.
