Josiah Biggs' researchers: Sometime ago I was reading the History of Clinton Co., Ohio, and came across a reference to Josiah Biggs' as administrator to will of Aaron Oxley. I started looking at Oxley research, and found the following from Notices From the Western Star, Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio by Blanche Collins, p. 78: "Legal claims against the estate of Aaron Oxley, dec'd, late of Vernon twp, Clinton county. Josiah biggs, Adm., 19 Feb. 1821". I found Oxley researcher Steve Neighbors gedcom at WorldConnect which stated that Josiah Biggs' married a daughter of Aaron Oxley and wife Rosanna. I contacted Steve he said he got the information from Oxley researcher George McKee, who I contacted. He said the information came from Patti O'Dell. I e.mailed her without receiving a reply. George McKee said that these people were Quaker or had Quaker ties. I couldn't find them listed in Hinshaws Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy, 1750-1930 in Loudoun Co., Fairfax MM, or in any Clinton Co., Quaker meetings. There were early Oxley Quakers in Chester Co., Pa, which could be related. Patricia C. O'Dell has written a book, Coombs and allied families, included Combs, Brabham, Dalrymple, Lullen and Oxley. This is available at LDS, # 9882134. I haven't read it yet. Aaron Oxley married Rosanna; death, Oct 1820, Clinton Co., Ohio. His parents were John and Catherine Lewis? Oxley of Loudon Co., Va. John's parents were Henry and Mary Everrit Oxley. Henry was b. 16 Jun 1697; death bef. 1761, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Information I received from Alice Jacober, Biggs' researcher, descendant of Reuben Biggs through second wife Olive Wilson in the 1980s, told me that Josiah's wife was named Elizabeth. Anyway, I have no proof at this time, but I believe we may have found the wife of Josiah Biggs. If any of you are able to establish proof, please post to us. Kate Ross Dowling, Ontario Canada I am a descendant of Josiah Biggs Sr through son Reuben and first wife Mary Lytle. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun.
