The local histories state that he was of Scotch-Irish descent. I have attempted, on the computer, to find out is the Biggs name was common to either area. But I found out very little. It seems that many Scots went to Ireland for political reasons. Therefore, I feel that maybe Biggs was a Scot name. All this is based on my historical info being correct. I do know that my Robert married a Jane (Ann) Miller who was supposedly born in Scotland; her parents were. My Robert's father may have been a John Biggs. I know nothing about his parents and siblings really. I was hoping that maybe I verify him as being born in an area where the name was not common; maybe it would be easier to research. He is first noted in Westmoreland County PA where there are others of Scottish origin.
