Check on Donald W. Little's queries in Jan of 2003. His email is Donald_little@hotmail.com. Pat Bake also posted info in Jul of 2000. Email: patabake@bcsnet.net. Some of the info I found said Dr. Amariah Biggs was born abt 1802 in Beaufort County, NC, and is the 4th son of Reuben Biggs and Sally/Matilda Watson. His siblings were James, Kader, Luke, Nehemiah, Zachariah, Reuben Washington, William and Asa. Dr. A married 1st wife, Lydia (b-1801) and had the following 6 children:John Fletcher, Mary, Matilda, William Henry Harrison (b-1840 in Memphis,TN), Curtis and Joseph. He migrated to Pike/Howard Co. Arkansas in 1850. He was shown on the 1830 Gibson Co TN Census. Others have said his brother was William W Biggs (b-1817) also found in Gibson Co TN in the 1840-50. Amariah was a doctor, missionary to the indians, professor and Methodist Minister and author. The better part of his life was spent in Southwest Arkansas. He died in Corinth, Howard AR in 1889 and is buried in the Goodrum Cemetery in Pike Co. A Church is named for him not far from whre he and 2nd wife, Mary are buried. The Methodist papers ran obits on him and he was very much loved. He had a total of 12 children with his two wives. His last daughter was Tennessee Cornelia Biggs (b-1861) who married John Wesley Dean, when he father was near 60 and her mother was hovering around 41 yrs. She and her husband died around 1906 in Stamford, Jones, TX. There is more info published on him in Clark Co AR by Stella Brumly Robinson.

I may have a connection to your Biggs/Harrison. Lydia Ann Biggs, 6th child of Dr/Rev Amariah, she was born 1834 in TN, married William (Willis) H. Harrison March 25, 1851. Willis Harrison is listed in the 1850 census as living with Amariah in Gibson Co., TN. Do you think my Lydia is your Littie?
