It sounds like some of you have done your homework, pretty well. I've have a John C. Biggs b. 1857 Warren Co., IN that I'm looking for. He was pretty much an orphan when his parents died, still being a minor. Found him in 1860 census still living at home and after that he dissappears. I've noted somewhere there was one John C. Biggs b. 1857 but it doesn't say where he was born that became quite a commander in the service, but I can't imagine a young lad going in the CW and become a famous commander later on in the service. Could this possibly be him? I just can't quite find it yet or lay my hands on it. Does anyone know about this?

David and Milley moved to Kentucky then to New Madrid, MO; later to Schuyler and Hancock Counties, Illinois. Joel and Frances moved to Henry County, MO and Later to Adair County where Joel died. I believe Frances died in Henry County and Joel married an Ann Steen about 1878.

Some of the family remained in Illinois but Joel moved his family to Henry County, MO and later to Adair County where he died.
