Hello List, I've noticed that quite a few members have had bouncing messages and subscribe errors. Rootsweb.com has been hit with more and more spammers lately and to help combat those spam emails (about 2-3 per week) many of us ListAdmin's have slowly tighten the security levels and it appears that something went amiss. Hopefully, I fixed those errors and corrected those with "hung" subscribe requests. I've already contacted those whose messages were bounced so they can resubmit them to the list. While I have everyone's attention. The BIEBER mailing list is restricted to subscribed members only. To subscribe, send an email to: BIEBER-L@rootsweb.com that contains ONLY (in the body of the message) the command subscribe If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to BIEBER-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. All mailing list postings are permanently achieved. The BIEBER mailing list archives are available at: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=bieber Also, with the merger of Ancestry, Rootsweb.com and MyFamily.com, the message boards have been consolidated into one place. The BIEBER message board is at: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.bieber You don't have to be sub'd to a message board, but you do need an Ancestry/Rootsweb/MyFamily ID. There is no charge for the basic ID's. Messages posted on the board are automatically forwarded to the mailing list BUT the mailing list is not forwarded to the board. Thanks! Oops... I forgot to mention... That emails to the list MUST be in plain text only. Any HTML (as in MSN, AOL) or Rich text (RTF) will be rejected by the Rootsweb.com server's. At least 2 of the bounced messages of people trying to subscribe to this list were sent in Rich text format.
