Greetings from the BIBBY-L Admin. There are currently 22 BIBBY researchers subscribed in list mode and 11 in digest mode. The list has been way to quiet, don't you think. Please consider posting the names, places and dates for the BIBBY line(s) you are researching. You may be able to make a connection, and at the very least your message will then be in RootsWeb's archives waiting for a cousin to discover and contact you. Hello All, Karen has a good idea, for all of us to say what Bibby lines we are researching. Mine is the family that originated in Over Wyresdale, near Lancaster, England, in 1630. For the next 200 years or so they stayed around the Lancaster area, and then branches out, first to Preston, then Liverpool and other places in Lancashire, later to the wider world. I know of branches in Canada (Saskatchewan and western Ontario), USA (West Virginia and possibly Wisconsin), New Zealand and Australia. As far as I know this is a completely separate family from Norman's Cumberland family that I come across quite often. Also I don't believe there is any connection with the many Bibby families that originated in the villages around Wigan. I would be interested to hear from anyone who believes they are connected to the Wyresdale Bibbys, or who is interested in the Bibby families generally. All the best John Bibby Wolverhampton, England ----- Original Message ----- Clip.. > Please consider posting the names, places and dates for the BIBBY line(s) you are researching.
