John Bibby, I am so excited, this is the first time I have had a response on my Bibby Clan. How did you hear of the same story, George Adams Bibby, changing his name when he arrived in the U.S.? The names are correct, George Adams and Elizabeth Wilson are recorded as his parents in 1862, both deceased, living in the Parish Of Shotts, Lanark Co., Scotland. The Declaration of intent, recorded in Clearfield Co.,Pa. names Scotland as his birth place. His oldest son, George, died at Timely St., Sarkhall, Scot. in 1916. The othr children of Geo. and his wife,Catherine Dryburgh, remained here in Pa. Do you have any ideas how I can find out if the Thomas Bibby who died as early as 1856 in Wis. was connected somehow to my George Adams?? Sorry I took so long in replying, I have researched for many years but I am new to the computer and how to go about it. I didn't look on the correct listing for a reply.
