The Bibbys of Accrington and Radcliffe are a branch of the Bibbys of Wyresdale, as is my branch. I know there is a connection to the firm of Bibby and Baron, the paper bag makers, but I don’t know exactly how. I have no details of your father Alan other than his name. His father was William, as you know, who was born 1 Feb 1900 in Providence RI. And died in Radcliffe, the date I don’t yet know. William married Lizzie Mitchell, born 4 Oct 1902. William’s father was Joshua, born 1865 in Crawshawbooth and also died in Radcliffe. This Joshua’s wife was Caroline; they had 7 children, the 1st and last born in Lancashire, the others in Rhode Island where the family lived between about 1894 and 1902. The Joshua who married Jenny Simpson was 100 years earlier, and distantly related. I have the line going back to 1630, so we can exchange information to fill in the gaps.
