    3. Hello listers; Maybe this has already know, but I heard a few days ago that Wilford M. Lee Author of Bibby and Allied Families passed away in Sept. The 27th or 28th. He was a very nice person and am happy that I had the opportunity to talk with him on the phone and exchange mail with him. His book touched a lot of lives. Nita Pearce nnpear2@rmi.net

    1. My BIBBY research
    2. John Bibby
    3. Hi all fellow Bibby researchers, Having just joined the list, I would like to introduce myself. I am Francis John Bibby, but like most of the Bibbys in my part of the family tree I am known by my second name, John. I currently live in Wolverhampton, in the English midlands, but my line of Bibbys originally comes from Over Wyresdale in Lancashire. It starts with a John Bibby, born in 1630, and christened in Lancaster. There are many different lines of Bibbys descended from this John. The most prominent is the one that founded the firm of J. Bibby and Sons Ltd, of Liverpool, and is the subject of the book “The Bibbys of Conder Mill”. There is a large family of descendants in New Zealand, and at least two others in Canada. The only line I know of in the US is that descended from Joseph Bibby and his wife Margaret Swarbrick, who settled in Charleston WV in 1832. I am at present trying to link up the Thomas Bibby who emigrated to Wisconsin in the mid 1800’s – it looks promising but I have not got enough proof yet. I hope this is enough information to whet your appetites. I would love to hear from any of you researching the same lines, or who think you may be connected. Goodbye for now John Bibby _____________________________________________________________ Add email to your web site - FAST, FREE, and CUSTOMIZED! .............. http://www.everyone.net ..............

    3. Numerous researchers have listed eleven children for John Liggett Bibby's family (Coosa Co, AL), we now know there are twelve. Margaret L. Bibby (b.1824) who m. James M. Bryant is not Margaret Elizabeth. Elizabeth Jane Bibby (b.1827)m. (_____)Ellis. This daughter is mentioned in Moses Bibby's will as "my sister", along with all his other (already named) siblings. Anyone working on this family? We're hoping to complete the family sheets, will share. Doris Peirce <ginlu@bellsouth.net>

    3. Hi Bibbys, Am I still on the list? I haven't heard from the list in a long, long time, but I have not unsubscribed, so maybe it's just quiet. For anyone who is researching the Nathaniel Bibby/Elizabeth Leggett family line---- I'm working on this family; especially on the JOHN LEGGETT BIBBY/MARY BELK family, and I have just proven that they had a daughter Elizabeth Jane Bibby in addition to the family usually listed. Most researchers have listed Margaret Bibby, b.1824, GA, as Margaret Elizabeth; but her name is Margaret L. Bibby, who married James M. Bryant in 1844. Elizabeth Jane Bibby was b.1827...the third child born to the family. If anyone is working on this family, please contact me, I will share all I have collected on them. I'm hoping to be able to fill in the family sheets. Doris

    3. Hello Bibby's; I copied the info below from the Military Record of John Bibby. I do not know which John this is but could be the one captured at the fall of Charleston, who was from James City Co. VA and 21 years of age. After tracing the activities in a Rev. War book it looks as tho John was with Gen. George Washington at the battle of Monmouth New Jersey. He had enlisted for the duration of the war but the records edns in 1779, so don't have anything after that. Hope someone knows who this John is and if my theory is right or wrong.. 3. Hi; I am looking for more info on Nathaniel Bibby who was in Frederick Co. VA in 1748. I found a Thomas Bibby in Shenandoah Co. and wondered if this could be a son of Nathaniel. And thought maybe someone else might be researching Nathaniels family. I have information on the line that was in NC and SC, but would like earlier informaiton. I found Nathaniel in Salem, West NJ in 1744 and in Frederick Co. VA in 1748, but nothing since. Except above mentioned. He is the youngest son of Edmond II Bibby of Northampton Co. VA. (Eastern Shore). Thanks Nita Pearce s Nita Pearce =20
