They are listed in the 1860 Clarke County census with their children and their son-in-law, Charles Thomas Besser from Walker County, Texas. His wife was Louisa Elyette Wainwright. He met his wife when he was visiting with a friend from Quitman, Mississippi but lived Galveston, Texas. Charles Thomas Besser and his wife returned to Texas. They are buried in a small family cemetary behind the Boswell Baptist Church outside New Waverly, Texas. Martha Risher Wainwright is buried there also.
