I'm not really finding a lot and wonder if anyone could tell me whether Berks is well represented on the IGI or paid websites eg Findmypast? Hi Kerrie What part of Berkshire are you interested in ? If it's the area commonly known as North Berkshire, which moved to Oxfordshire as a result of the local government re-organisation of 1974, then the "Search Services" of this society might be able to help you. Essentially, our "Search Services" are a database of entries extracted from parish registers - baptisms, marriages and burials - and from monumental inscriptions and from census returns. These indexes cover both historic Oxfordshire and the former North Berkshire. We can search the database for you, and let you have the results either through the post or by e-mail. You can get more details from :- _http://searches.oxfordshirefhs.org.uk/_ (http://searches.oxfordshirefhs.org.uk/) If your HENWOOD ancestors happen to be from North Berkshire, please post more details to the list, and we'll see what help the "Search Services" can give you. Best wishes. Paul Gaskell Publicity Officer Oxfordshire Family History Society Website : _www.ofhs.org.uk_ (http://www.ofhs.org.uk)

    3. Hi Paul The parishes where I've found the family so far have been Basildon, Arborfield & Tidmarsh which I think are in the south of the county. But I realise now that Basildon is right on the Oxfordshire border so they may even have originated from there. Thanks for your reply. Regards Kerrie > What part of Berkshire are you interested in ?
