The long row of buildings in Shaw Road is known as Shaw Crescent - and do/did not include the Wheatsheaf. The Wheatsheaf was a few doors north of the Crescent on the southern corner of what is now Wheatsheaf Lane. Up the lane was an old terrace of cottages which were known as Eyles Buildings. The name could well indicate that an Eyles built them or owned them.
