The word 'Leckhampstead' caught my eye in this email. A book 'Leckhampstead Village yesterday and today' by Elizabeth Vera Setchell has been published recently. Mrs Setchell spent part of WW2 as a pupil at Chaddleworth school, and later lived for years in Leckhampstead where she was secretary of the village hall committee and the WI. It is a mixture of history and memories contributed by a number of people, with a number of photographs, and information about a number of families who were in the village in late 19th and early to mid 20th century, including my wife's THOMAS ancestors.
