    3. Hi All, Seasons Greetings to you all! I wonder whether anyone has any links to the Birch's from East Woodhay, which is on the Berkshire/Hampshire border! I have hit a dead-end, which has lasted for several years! My direct ancestor is David Birch who was according to the census born East Woodhay, moved to Bishops Sutton, before settling in Warnford and finally West Meon all in Hampshire. Hope and pray I might get a response, as I am at my wit's end. Best wishes, Den

    3. Den, I assume that the census you are referring to is 1861 which does appear to have two entries for a David Birch, one born at EAST Woodhay and one born at Bishops Sutton. I don't have access to this census to look at the entries. However, the Hampshire baptism index only gives one (looking at BIRCH & BURCH), Bishops Sutton - the same as the IGI. Both of these sources confirm that: David BIRCH baptised at Bishops Sutton 7 Jul 1822, parents David & Elizabeth Their other offspring (from the IGI) are: John 1825 William 1827 Daniel 1829 Maryanne 1832 Eliza 1835 Regards Peter Hi All, Seasons Greetings to you all!
