    3. Hi Margaret With this sort of enquiry its always useful to give the census references, names/age & birth place Many listers have access to the census and can give a better opinion if they can see it for themselves Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Dear Listers > > I am trying to decipher a town name from an 1861 and an 1871 census page. > The town is in Berkshire and looks like Burville or Burvel. 3. Dear Listers Thank you to Nivard for the very sensible suggestion. The 1861 census reference is for Dedworth Green. The family is George Cox (38, b. Dedworth Green), his wife Eliza Cox (39, b. Clewer), their son William George (7, b. Dedworth Green) and Eliza's father, William Cox (64, b. Durville?). The 1871 census entry is for the same family: George Cox (45, b. Clewer), Eliza (49, b. Clewer), William George (16, b. Dedworth Green), living at #39 Dedworth Green. William Cox, widower, aged 74 now lives alone next door at #38. His birth place looks like Durvel?, Berkshire. 3. Hi Margaret, Have you found the parents of George COX yet? I would be interested to know when you do as I think your lot is related to mine. Did you have any luck with the Word Doc I sent with the Parish records for St. Andrews Church, was it any help? Regards, Colin. ----- Original Message ----- From: Margaret Nichols To: berkshire@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2010 9:45 PM Subject: Re: [BRK] Berkshire town mystery Dear Listers Thank you to Nivard for the very sensible suggestion.
