Hi Michael I agree I don't have any ancestors in New Zealand but the site has been very useful to me in tracking ship movements. If you have any mariners in the family and you know the name of the ship on which they are serving then the port arrivals will give you the date the ship arrived and the name of its master You would most likely find mentions of British troops arriving in NZ too. It also covers many stories from Britain although they don't usually appear until at least five or six months later. I'm researching an ancestor with a theatrical background and have even found useful articles about the theatre where he worked appearing in some of the NZ newspapers. regards MOIRA ----- Original Message ----- From: <MICHAELCOOMBER@aol.com> To: <BERKSHIRE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 2010 10:17 PM Subject: [BRK] New Zealand Newspaper Archives > > This site, giving free access to search & read some of the older > newspapers, from New Zealand, may be of interest to listers. > _http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast_ > (http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast) > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > BERKSHIRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
