I am looking for any information on John HARKNESS, particularly details of his birth/baptism. He is in 1851 census living in Marylebone with his wife and children, a tailor, born about 1807 in Wokingham, Berks. According to some old family notes he was an only child. His father was Robert HARKNESS of Edinburgh and after Robert's death, John's mother - brought up at Boothby Hall, Lincolnshire (there are three!) - married a Mr ROBINSON.
