Chalkhouse Green may well have been in the parish of Kidmore or Kidmore End (which seems to be the postal address) in Oxfordshire, which was in the registration district of Henley. http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/places/regindex1-3.pdf However in the 1841 census Chalk House Green comes under Caversham, enumeration district 18, again in Henley district. It looks as if Kidmore bceame a parish in the 1890s. There was a birth of a John BREWERTON registered in Henley district in September Quarter 1839, ref XVI (16) 63 If this was one of the older siblings, it may be worth getting that certificate. I can't find any BREWERTON in Chalk House Green or the rest of that census enumeration district in 1841 census. Using Hugh Wallis's IGI link I can't find any BREWERTON baptisms in Caversham parish either. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyOxford.htm#PageTitle Did the family move elsewhere in England before migrating to NZ, or indeed did they stop off in Oz en route? What evidence places them in Chalk House Green? By the way, a wildcard search on www.freebmd.org.uk for Sarah Br*ton turns up a BRUTON entry, but in Chipping Sodbury district, in the quarter that you mention.
