As far as I can see, Mike, James STRANGE and Elizabeth CURTIS married 18 November 1799, he being a widower and she a spinster. Then baptisms for George 1805 - 21 April Charles 1807 - 28 June James 1810 - 22 January Sally 1813 - 14 February (now noting that Dad was a labourer from Botley Pound) No sign of Charlotte in Cumnor, I'm afraid. I checked to see if they'd nipped down to North or South Hinksey for her christening, but no luck, the only one I saw there being in 1861, on September 29 in South Hinksey, where Llewellyn Kimber STRANGE was baptised, illegit s. ('James &'crossed out) Laura, New Hinksey. I see from her later marriage that Laura was the daughter of Francis STRANGE, wine merchant. You will know whether she is any relation to your family at all. I have no connection with this family, but they may have been neighbours of my family.
