My gtgrand uncle (born Driffield ERY in the 1780s) spent most of his working life at Ashdown House,starting as a carpenter and finishing up as steward.   Family legend has it that he married three times.   I know that he married at least twice.   He was a widower when he married Mary Chivers on 18th Aug. 1852 at Faringdon Register office.   He is buried in Uffington Churchyard alongside a g badly eroded but where the word Mary is/was legible. .   I'm looking for any children that he might have fathered.
