    3. FreeBMD has birth registration June quarter 1887 Abingdon 2c 276 for Frederick WEBB Note that in 1881 they were at Longworth and eldest child Louisa M. was age 2 b Kingston Bagpuize He was then 23 and she 26, Mary J. not Mary A. Marriage in June quarter 1875 in Abingdon district 2c 499. George WEBB and Rose Anne /Rose Hannah THOMAS Louisa may have been born Mar qr 1879 Abingdon 2c 299 George W Webb was 13 in 1871 census, in Drayton, with parents George b abt 1825 and Sarah. However in 1881 George B 1825 is with Rosanna and her children Arthur Beckett and Charles THOMAS, so this marriage must have been between widower about 50 and widow in mid-20s, and not the George William b abt 1860 in question. Indeed there are new children George Webb 5 and Annie Webb 2 and Frederick Webb 10 mo. Maybe with a new stepmother only a few years older than himself, young George embarked upon a family in the later 1870s without the formality of matrimony. His mother Sarah had died aged 46 in Sept qr1873. In 1861 census George is shown as age 2 b Drayton. Birth Dec qr 1858 Abingdon George William WEBB 2c 248 Possibly his parents marriage Dec qr 1850 George WEBB and Sarah CHAMP. 3. Hello Jeff, It amused me [ in the nicest way of course] that you replied and looked up this family for me. Thank you for your help. It helped me concentrate my mind again just as I had been flagging. Maybe we should swop counties/countries? ;-)) Yes thanks, I did have the Free BMD for Frederick but I simply cannot find his baptism.. Which is odd but maybe he was written on the back of the proverbial vicar's envelope or something, as the children either side of him are baptised. I think he may well have been baptised at Kingston Bagpuize, but we were only asked when we transcribed them to go to 1880 and so we stopped at that date. Frederick's parents were GEORGE WILLIAM WEBB who was born 1858 in Drayton, Abingdon, Berkshire | Free BMD Ab 2c 248. He married MARY JANE WALTERS in June Quarter 1878 Free BMD Faringdon 2c 503, daughter of WILLIAM WALTERS and JANE THATCHER. She was born Dec 1854 in Abingdon, Berkshire and the family were living near the WEBB family in Little London, which is actually Longworth but regarded as Southmoor for many years and is in fact becoming so officially shortly. > This couple are not belonging to the above: > However in 1881 George B 1825 is with Rosanna Thank you so much for the help Jeff, it is much appreciated.
