    3. Hello Gary, Yes the name is used medically as Brad has pointed out, but there is more to this than that one usage. Mellitus was a Saint and Melitus is also used as a Surname and given name http://www.saintmellitushanwell.org.uk/History.html St Mellitus (died 24 April 624) was the first Bishop of London, the third Archbishop of Canterbury. So I would search in Dictionaries of Christian and Surnames and see if you can find others of this name. Do you know if the other names, Sims and Cripps are family names?
