The Vale of the White Horse Branch of Berkshire Family History Society will be having a talk on 17 Jan 2011 at 7.30pm at Long Furlong Community Centre, Boulter Drive, Abingdon. Liz Woolley will be telling us about "Child labour in nineteenth-century Oxfordshire" Child labour wasn't only confined to the factories and mines of the Midlands and the North. In rural counties like Oxfordshire, child labour was as much a feature of everyday life in the nineteenth century as in industrialised areas.. The meeting will start at 7.30pm and will be held as usual at Long Furlong Community Centre, Boulter Drive, Abingdon. Where there is ample free parking. Everyone welcome.
