    3. Thanks to Moira, I have now found the above on 1841 Census, living in Clifton St, Clapham, Wandsworth. He spent the rest of his life in and around the same area. It looks as if his wife's name might have been Mary and he has possibly a son Henry age 20yrs and a daughter Caroline age 15yrs. I still have no record of his birth or marriage or indeed anything of his life before Clapham. Where do I go next? In all but 1841 Census, he says he was born in Streatley, Berkshire. His age in 1841 was 60, making a feasible birth date of c 1780. All other census entries age him about the same corresponding age. Where can I find Parish records of births & marriages for Streatley, Berks. for the time period I need? Most grateful for any help offered. Regards Mo -- Maureen Burton Member ESFHS

    3. On Ancestry.com, the 1851 Census shows a correction to the last name of the family with Edmund LARDNER. Thomas HILLIS, corrected to HILLS, listed as son-in-law, his wife Sophia, Edmund's daughter and their two sons Edward, age 9 and Henery age 5 months are with Edmund. The correction from HILLIS to HILLS was made by johngallienne1 on 3/20/10. Another correction to Thomas' place of birth was made by the same person 06/10/10. If you have access to ancestry.com, it allows you to send a message to johngallienne1 who may have further info on Edmund LARDNER. Checking ancestry.com further, I found Edmund LARDNER, b 1780 Streatley, Berkshire in two trees - Mark1Familytree - owner mseely118 and SEELY Family Tree - access restricted but same owner. Contacting mseely118 might provide you with more information. 3. FamilySearch.org's new site has a marriage 06 Feb 1777 in Pangbourn, Berkshire between an Edmund LARDNER and an Elizabeth MONCKTON. Could this couple be the parents of Edmund LARDNER born C 1780 in Berkshire? There is also a marriage 30 Jan 1777 in Hampshire between Edm. LARDNER and Eliz MONCKTON. Did they get married days apart in neighboring counties?
