    3. Hi Susan It is currently sheltered houseing have you tried using google - if you put summerhill house ayton into the search box you get a lot of results. You need to be careful because according to the British listed buildings site there are two Summerhill in Ayton, Beanburn, Berwick As to the history of the house you are asking the wrong list - try looking at rootsweb for a Berwickshire list. You could also look at the Berwickshire pages of www.genuki.org.uk and at this link for local background http://www.scotborders.gov.uk/pdf/23271.pdf Wendy -----Original Message----- From: Susan McIsaac Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2011 12:14 PM To: BERKSHIRE@rootsweb.com Subject: [BRK] Summerhill House Would anyone have information on a residence called Summerhill House, Ayton, Berwick? This address is given on a passenger listing as “proposed address in the United Kingdom”, for my great aunt Jessie (Campbell) Miller and her husband John Miller. He is listed as a farmer. Would this have been a boarding house or would it be an estate name? Thanks for any help available. 3. Hi Again List Members, I have been so lucky receiving so much information through the kindness of Members. I have details of the WICKS family back to Benjamin WICKS. b.abt. 1787, Reading. wife. Mary Ligott and 6 children. Now Benjamin WICK'S father was William and mother Charlotte, Harwell Parish. Not sure where this information came from, but have not been able to find anything to substaniate it. Have checked heaps of online Parish records, and IGI, and found nothing. Any assistance as to where to look would be appreciated. Regards, Jenny in Aus.
