Hello Michael, These notices you are sending through to the list can you tell me where you are obtaining them from. I have a marriage of a James BRYANT of Bath Wilts to Ann TAYLOR 15 November 1825 at St Mary's Reading Berks and of course I would be thrilled if there was a notice of this as she died probably in childbirth bef. 1828, little is known of her or where she is buried and after this he took a third wife for which we can find no marriage and the only evidence is the census. Many thanks Toni in NZ ----- Original Message ----- From: <MICHAELCOOMBER@aol.com> To: <BERKSHIRE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 05, 2009 11:33 AM Subject: [BRK] Marriage of WILSON & RICH ( 1726 ) > >From Weekly Journal or British Gazetteer ( London, England ), Saturday, > January 8, 1726; Issue 37. > > Captain WILSON of the Horse Guards was lately married to a Sister of Sir > William RICH of Berkshire. > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > BERKSHIRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Curiously, Bath was actually in Somerset, not Wiltshire. Hi Toni, Have you look in the husband's parish for her death? It was often the case that the couple got married in the bride's parish and then moved to live where the husband had work. I don't know if there is a Burial Index for Wiltshire. Jocie > Hello Michael, > > These notices you are sending through to the list can you tell me where > you > are obtaining them from. Thought you might like to know we have a Stratton family in one of my American families ~ They evidently came from England to Virginia, mixed with my family in Augusta County VA. went to Missouri and Texas where most of them are still. The US and AU have a lot in common, we have so many of our roots in England. I research the Mattingley family in America and England, and of course, they went to Australia also. A rather witty report from The Aberdeen Journal ( Aberdeen, Scotland ), Wednesday, August 29, 1810; Issue 3268. It is said that Mr. ROLLS was recently married, in Berkshire, to a Miss BUTTER. The Lady, no doubt, had for some time been his toast.
>From The Aberdeen Journal ( Aberdeen, Scotland ), Wednesday, December 4, 1805; Issue 3021. On Monday se'enight was married, by special licence, at Kimbolton Castle, Charles PALMER, Esq., of Luckley Park, Berkshire, to the Right Hon. Lady Madelina SINCLAIR. The Duke and Duchess of Manchester, Duke and Duchess of Bedford, Marquis of Tavistock, and Lady Charlotte Lennox, were present.

My Stratton line is at Little Cheverell in Wiltshire with the marriage of Ann Stratton to John Tanner 27 Jan 1752. The parish registers have been checked at Little Cheverell (thus far) and neither of their families appear in the register for at least a generation before.
