Hi everyone! I'm taking a break right now from cleaning up the mess in the kitchen so I thought this would be a good time to type up the recipe I promised the other day. Its in Grandma Berkheiser's handwriting on Wheel Horse notepad paper with an older copy stapled to it. The Wheel Horse factory used to be a mile up the road from where we live. My additional notes are in brackets. Rick B -------------------- 7-layer dinner 4-5 medium potatoes [peeled and sliced] 1 layer of carrots [peeled and sliced] 1 tablespoon rice 1 1/2 lbs Hamburger [raw] 2 onions sliced Small can tomato juice Bake 250 to 300 [probably best to do at 300 degrees] for 2 hours [Bake in a 9 X 13 glass dish but Grandma used to make it that cooker that stoves used to have. You know. The one that was inset so you could turn it over and use it as a fourth burner.] Aunt Luella - 2-75 [Luella Gertrude (Smith) Berkheiser, my grandmother, 1899-1979]
