    1. Re: [BENNETT] Re: Capt. Bennett NY War of 1812
    2. Thanks. I have an ancestor that fought in the War of 1812. He was born in Cayuga/Cortland Co, NY in 1792, was married there in 1816, and was a member of a long time Cortland Co family. He went by the name of Loniel, often altered to Lionel. I found a mention of a Capt Bennett from Cayuga Co and hoped to find his first name. -------------- Original message from [email protected]: -------------- > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Bennett > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BRD.2ACEB/6196.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Hi, > > We have a Jonanthan Bennett in our family who was a War of 1812 Veteran from NY. > He later moved to Ohio and is buried in Bloomfield Cemetery, in Morrow, OH.
