They were married when Katie was 14 or 15 when she became with child. They were married in an Indian Ceremony, and later in a Church. As a child John and his brother William were in the middle of a battle where Jessie James rescued them and put them in a bunker. Both there parents were killed. An Indian by the name of John Drum raised both of the boys. So we are not sure who there parents are. I would very much like to find some more out about the Bennett family history.
