You mentioned Sarah Hassinger and I KNEW we had a connection... I am in the Dewitt County area of IL, as were some of the family I am currently researching. Chiefly the Millers (of Clinton, Lane, Dewitt, Maroa, Bloomington), and the Bennetts, as a result of one of my Millers (Frank Theodore Miller) marrying a Rosa Bennett on November 11, 1900, in Dewitt, IL. I have that Rosa (born 1873?) was the daughter of Aquilla Bennett (b. 1831) and Sarah M. Hassinger (b. 1837). I'd be interested in knowing more about Rosa's family... brothers and sisters, Aquilla'a lineage, etc. One curious thing: Rosa Bennett had a FIRST daughter (out of wedlock?? I've found no previous marriages...), Grovie, or Grova, that she sent to live with her parents (Aquilla and Sarah: 1910 census shows Grova living with them, they in their 70's, Grova at 17... also, that an "Emmanuel J. Bennett" and family (wife Emma, children Grace, Marion and Minor(sp?)) must have lived next door??) when she, Rosa, married our Frank Theodore Miller (whom I am also looking for lineage on). Frank and Rosa Bennett Miller's children were Oren R., Nina (married my great uncle, a Bloomington Fireman then Policeman, Les Larison in 1953), Ruth (married my grandfather, farmer Joseph Henry Franklin, in 1932 or 1933) and Genevieve. There may have been more, but that's all I've been able to locate, using our family history and census records... I'd be interested in sharing GEDCOMS with you, if you'd like, and any and all info you can spare on the Bennetts connected to my Dewitt, IL (or Lane, or Clinton, or Maroa, or Dewitt County, etc.) Millers!
