He was SUPPOSED to be sending money home to his wife who was staying with his father. He found a good mine then lost everything when he bought a "salted" worthless mine. This dosen't work because in the 1850 Census, Andrew Jackson is in Wayne Co with his wife Mary. Elisha is absent and his wife Elizabeth Dennis is staying with Elisha's father, Larkin Bennett. I believe the storyteller was off by one generation. I believe it was Elisha who went to the Gold Fields instead of Andrew Jackson Bennett. Would this be the same Elisha Bennett mentioned at the "Death Valley" National Park? Were Deborah, Elizabeth and Sally Dennis sisters? If so we have some triple cousins. Does anyone have Gold Mine Records w/Bennett?
