Melanie: I am also researching Bennetts from Georgia/Alabama. My line is said to have come originally from West Virginia -- my grandfather, Henry Harrison Bennett, was b. 1844, supposedly Hancock County, Virginia, which is now West Virginia. He died in 1922 in Chambers County, Alabama. His father's name was William -- but I am discovered dozens of William Bennetts and so far none match my line. My brick wall appeared about twelve years ago. Is it possible that your family may be connected in some way? The proximity would make it possible but I have not established much in the way of factual information. We know HHB had several wives (possibly five). The last two were Suggs and Amanda Rebecca Rowe.
