I am seeking the father of Silas Bennett born 1805 in Ohio County Kentucky; he married Matilda McCormick. They had at least one son (My great-great grandfather) Robert Henry Bennett Sr. born in 1829; he married a Lydia Herrin of Muhlenberg County and they were the parents of 15 children: Caroline, Elizabeth Bettie,Robert H., Erasmus,Silas,Bryant, Emily, Lewis, George, John, Annie, Hester, Alford, Roston and Edward. They owned farms inherited from who we have assumed was the father of Silas. I found Silas and his wife Matilda (listed as Mulattos)living in Dist. 1 Muhlenberg County in 1860. Living with them was a Ellen Murphy, age 18 from Ireland and a one year old child named Elizabeth Murphy born in Kentucky. Any information you might have will be helpful. Thank You in advance.
