I am researching Elijah Bennett and Daniel Franklin Bennett of Guilford County, N.C. during the 19th century and would very much like to have information before they came to N.C. Since these Bennett's of this time period intermarried with the German settlers of the SE Guilford area so often and lived in this area, I wondered if I could make a connection with the name as being German rather than English or French in origin. p. nesbit
