MY BENNETTS GEN # 10 Reuben Bennett b 29 Nov 1782 in St Stephens Parrish, Northumberland, Va, d 16 Dec 1838 in St Tammany's Parish, La. He married Sarah Sally Robertson in Jackson Co Ge on 14 Feb 1805. Sarah was the daughter of David Robertson b 1757 and Jane Headen Robertson. This was a great thing for me personally having the Robertsons for my Grandfathers, their son Willian Robertson married Elizabeth Bankston, MY grands, daughter of John Bankston Sr and Henrietta Coats Bankston, my grands, Their daughter Mildred became my grandmother married Robert M Cooper., Their son R W Cooper became my grand, his son Henry S. Cooper was my mom's father. He married Laura Emma Bennett, With Sarah on the other side of my tree, giving me Darrius Johnson Bennett b 1822, married Mary Headen in 1839, Sarah, his mother had to sign her permission for him to marry because of of his young age of 17. Jacob Core signed on as bond for him posting $ 100.00 for the marriage bond. Back to Reuben Bennett, he was a 1812 war vet pension # 88402, he was a land owner for serivces rendered and some more lands by purchase. I have several of his papers and a few of Sarah's. William Terrell Bennett b 1812 St Tammanys Parish. Malissa Bennett b 1814 St tammanys P m Sameul Fenton Martin , 1834. Mary Bennett b 1818 St tammanys Parish m Lemuel Trainer. Leroy Thaddus Bennett b 1823, St Tammanys Parish.( He served in the Mexican war, died shortly after. Daniel Bennett b 1824 d Apr 1897, married Sarah Mixon. Louisiana Ann Bennett b 1825 St Tammanys P maried Shipworth Durbin 5 June 1840 St Helena Parish. Darrius Johnson Bennett b June 6, 1822 married Mary headen, ( They were my grandparents), their son George Washington Bennett b 1844-1911 Kentwood, La , married to Alphosene Bennett in 1866, their daughter Larua Emma Bennett b 1879 was my mothers mother. Lots of descendants from George and darrius all over Lousiana. Darrius signed the loyalty oath in 1868 in Pine Grove La. I hope to find his grave soon as the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatula is coming up very soon and I will be there.
