    1. [BENNETT] Re: Bennetts in Randolph County, Missouri
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bennett - Hines - Hughes Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BRD.2ACEB/4091.2 Message Board Post: Some of my Bennett ancestors lived and died in Randolph County, AR., but they were there much earlier than what you are describing here. My Bennett's arrived in Randolph County, Arkansas, during the Civil War. The patriarch of the Randolph Co., AR., Bennett family (in my family tree) was Captain Harrison Bennett. He resigned his commission due to ill health in 1863 from Company H, 9th Regiment, 4th Brigade, Missouri Infantry. Soon after his retirement from the military he moved his family from Ripley Co., MO., to Randolph Co., AR., so that he could take advantage of the beneficial waters at Warm Springs, Arkansas. He died there in Randolph Co., AR., in 1867. He is buried in the Thompson Cemetery, in Randolph County. His wife was named Sarah Hines. I believe she was the daughter of Gabriel Hines and Mary Ann Hughes, but can not prove it. Any chance my Bennett's are related to yours? Care to exchange and compare notes? Thanks
