His father and grandfather were farmers in and around Upton-upon-Severn and Hanley Castle and I have traced them back to 1826. My grandfather moved to Bitton near Bristol and married Winifred Ruth Bush in 1918, after which they moved to Bath just 12 miles away from Bristol.
