Amoung the many famous descendants of Thomas Bennett senior. are: John Randolph of Roanoke, senator and congressman of Virginia, Richard Bland b 1710, member of the first congress at Philadelphia, Col Theodorick Bland MD b 1741 served in the Revolutionary army under Gen George Washington, Henry St George Tucker, President of the Virginia Court of appeals, John Randolph Tucker, Attorney General of Virginia: Light Horse Harry Lee of the Revolutionary Army; Major-General Fitzhugh Lee and General Robert E Lee of the Confederate Army. Frances Bolling Bland b 1752, the Mother of John Randolph of Roanoke These are all grandchildren of Thomas Bennett b 1570, Thomas and Ansti were my grands also. Children of Thomas and Ansti, Thomas Bennett b 1603 b Wiveliscombe England also my grandad Elizabeth Bennett b 1605 Eng d December 1605' Willaim Bennett b 1606 Eng died 24 June, 1611. arried Dorothy Scott, St Margarets, Westminister Eng. Richard Bennett b Aug 1609 Somerset, England, d 1675, m Mary Anne Uti, 1641. Richard served as gov of Virginia of the Virginia General Assembly, Maj -Gen of the Virginia Miltary Forces and was re-elected for three consecutive terms, 4-30-1652 He was sent to england to the house of Burgesses as commissioner. Returning to Virginia in 1658. He was re-elected to the council each year until his death. His daughter Anne Bennett was married to Theodorick Bland b 1626 England and the produced some well known Blands in American History. Philip Bennett b 1611, Wiveliscombe Eng.
