Parents, Thomas Jefferson and Sarah (RANDOLPH) BENNETT. Born, Adair, Ill., Feb. 6, 1880. Married, Carrie M. HOYLE, Dec. 15, 1906. Children: Eugene H., Gordon R., Lucille M. Educated, Public schools of Adair, Ill. Occupation: Farmer, Wasco Area. He was engaged in farming in McDonough County, Ill., from 1896 to 1906. He came to Kern County in 1907 and has been engaged in general farming in the Wasco area since then. He pioneered in the water development in 1907 and in potato development in 1908 and then in 1915 and he was also one of the early cotton growers in that section. He owned one of the first dairies in the Wasco area and engaged in the dairy business from 1910 to 1927, operating Bennett's Dairy. He has been a member of the Wasco Union High School District Board of Trustees since 1932 and has been Clerk of the Board since 1938. He was a member of the Board that built the Science building, Agricultural building and additions to the garage. The Board of whi! ch he was a member also bought the Agricultural Farm for the Wasco Union High School. Member: M.W. of A.; Kern County Farm Bureau, since its organization in Wasco; Wasco Growers Co-Operative Gin. He is a past member of the Wasco Business Men's Association.
