    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bennett, Patchin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BRD.2ACEB/4383 Message Board Post: I found this poem my Great-Grandmother, Permelia S. Patchin had written in the 1905 Truman Tribune (Minnesota) newspaper. In Memory of Eathon Bennett You've been so patient, Father, thru all these trying years; you've borne the pain so bravely and smothered back the tears. Your smiles have been sunshine to cheer us on our way. In lonliness and sorrow we bow in grief today. You've been so helpful Father, in your weakness and your pain, o, how, without your sympathy can we lift our burdens again? To carry the trouble to Father, hear his council wise and sure, in our "common lot" perplexities was an ever blessed cure. Your hands were always busy with ministries of love. I think the angels must be so with Jesus, up above. They're lying white and restful but in spite of years of pain it may seem selfish Father but we want you back again. We'll try to meet you Father in the house not made with hands when Jesus comes triumphant mid bright angelic bands. To wipe the tears of sorrow and bind the broken heart. In the earth "new and glorious" We'll meet no more to part. I don't know who Eathon Bennett was, but perhaps a family member will read this. Grandma's baby sister married Fred Bennett in Minnesota and are listed in the 1900 Fairmont, Martin County, Minnesota census. Fred Bennett - Head - born Dec. 1850 in Vermont Amy Bennett - Wife - born April 1870 in Iowa Florence Bennett - Daughter - born September 1890 in Iowa Bertha Bennett - Daughter - born June 1892 in Iowa Theodore Bennett - Son - born January 1895 in Iowa Vasco Bennett - Son - born March 1897 in Iowa I haven't been able to find anything on Fred Bennett, either previous to 1900 or after. If anyone has information on this family I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.
