I'm hoping to discover where the Bennett listed below lived. My ancestor, UPCHURCH, lived in Isle of Wight sometime during the 1638-1650 period, and maybe all that time. He wrote a letter back to his father in England in which he tells him, "I liv neere cassle (Castle?) creek not farr from mother Bennetts plantation." I'm trying to learn just where that would be and have found several references to an Alice Bennett, widow, selling land also referenced on Castle Creek. Can you help me identify if this Alice Bennett would have been the "mother Bennett" my Upchurch was talking about? Or do you know who that might have been that would have been in close proximity to Castle Creek and been known as "mother Bennett?" And can you tell me just where that area would be? Any help will be most gratefully appreciated. Mae Cox in Oklahoma
