William Bennett (b 1849 or 1848 in our records) was the son of Jones Bennett and Susan. His brother was my great, great grandfather, John Romaldus Bennett. Perhaps the "R" you are looking for is the name handed down in the family with a story-Romaldus. We still have not made a break through in finding Jones' father but suspect we will find that part of the family on North Carolina and I am working to that end. Hope this helps. Melanie Bennett
