Author: OuidaStarkBrumleyMartin Surnames: Bennett, Corbitt, Corbett, Heist Classification: death Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bennett/9662/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Ouida Gaynelle Bennett (born Oct. 11, 1908 in Oberry, GA), the daughter of Timothy Gordan Bennett (Nov. 15, 1883, Nasheville, Berrien County, GA) and Levi Jane Corbitt (Feb. 7, 1887, Clinch County, GA) died today at 100. She lived an incredibly full life and had stories that would thrill us as we were growing up about her family and the days of old. Those stories were taken too fast though as she had lost her place in this world 20 years ago to senile dementia. She will be buried next to her husband John Alden Heist in Mt. Dora, Lake County, Florida. As she would have said... "The Old Grey Mare... she ain't what she used to be... ain't what she used to be... ain't what she used to be....
