It is claimed he was born in Elk Valley, TN, Campbell Co. in 1795. It is also claimed that he was married to a Elizabeth Betsy Rose, from SC,born 1797- Also, according to the 1850 Whitley Co. KY Census Edward was married to a Mary Polly Petrie, widow of John Petrie. I'm searching for more information as to whether the marriage to Elizabeth Rose is valid so I can find out who my great, great grandmother Nancy Bennett Hampton's mother was.
