Died September 29, 1898 in Philadelphia, PA Married Rachel A. Scott, born 1821 died 1896 Philadelphia. They divorced abt 1866. Their daughter, Imogene, was born Nov. 26, 1852, died Feb. 14, 1935 Philadelphia. She was married to Jules C. Wellens. Joseph was a well known clothier in his day. His business was at 518 Market St., which is now the location of the Liberty Bell. He gave to many Methodist organizations thoughout his life and left much of his estate to them and the University of Pennsylvania. His worth was at $3 million. Josephs parents were : Samuel H. Bennett b abt 1796 Gloucester county,NJ, d 1827, Burlington, NJ, m January 30, 1814 Gloucester county, NJ to Mary Monroe b abt 1796 NJ, d March 16, 1870, Philadelphia. Their children : George W. b 1814 Red Bank, Gloucester county, NJ. d 1907, Philadelphia. Joseph M. Charles L. b abt 1824, NJ. d April 10, 1876, Philadelphia Keziah M. b December 1826, NJ. d March 23, 1909, Philadelphia Samuel H. b abt 1826, NJ. d Feb 23, 1846 All except Samuel, the father, are buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA
