My great, great grandmother was Cynthia Bennett, b. 1857/1858 and still living for the 1930 census. Family oral history states that Cynthia was an Onondaga indian married to a white man. 1930 NY Onondaga County, Syracuse, 517 Madison Street, ED# 97 Bennett, Cynthia S. head, rent $25, indian, age 72, widow , William R. grandson, white, age 21 , Kenneth R. grandson, white, age 14 , Arthur E. grandson, white, age 12 , Mary A. granddaughter, white, age 10 (name really Muriel A.) Mary/Muriel was my grandmother. Kenneth and Arthur were her brothers and I assume William was a cousin. Parents of Muriel, Kenneth and Arthur were Ernest and Edythe Johnston Bennett who I have not found in the 1930 census. 1920 NY Onondaga, Syracuse, ED #217 Bennett, Ernest head, white, age 25 , Edith wife, white, age 22 , Kenneth son, white, age 4 , Arthur son, white, age 2 , Muriel dau, white, age 4/12 Ernest was the son of Cynthia Bennett and unknown name of father.
