Mary Endora Toler dau/Joseph & Frances Dixon Toler married James Lewis Bennet, Dec. 21, 1812, in Pittsylvania Co. VA.. This could be the Polly Toler named because Polly was often a nickname for people named Mary. Also, Ms. Baudean said that surety was William Toler, which could have been either her brother, or her grandfather, as they were both named William Toler. I believe that surety is the same thing as the marriage bond. Polly was over 21 and did not need her father's consent, although he may have approved of the marriage.
